"Christmas Morning" was an interactive sculpture that was design, fabricated and installed by Visumotus Interactive in Canberra for the public to enjoy from 2021.

The sculpture consists of 5 custom fabricated iconic Australia animals (A Kangaroo, Emu, Kookaburra, Wombat and Koala) gathered around a stack of Christmas presents - Representing the simple excitement of waiting for everyone to be together on Christmas morning to give and receive presents. Each animal has an individual step trigger, that went pressed makes a sound and lights up the specific animal, and when each trigger gets pressed sequentially in a circle a jingle is played with an animated LED sequence.

This installation aimed to promote and inspire the uses of interactive design and technologies and bring a sense of excitement and admiration for the natural environment and coming together of family at the end of the year.

Some new exciting additions and developments are in the works for this installation to make another appearance in the future!

Tree Rings

Visumotus Interactive facilitated the design, fabrication, and programming of a large LED "Ngala Tree Rings" installation in Canberra early in 2022.  The following text is a excerpt from a post from City Renewal Authority Canberra:

Haig Park just got a whole lot lighter.

The 34 bespoke “Ngala Light Rings” recently installed in the park, act as a beacon to welcome people from Lonsdale Street. Each light is individually programmable and provides a calm and serene ambiance, contributing to the newfound safety, activation, cultural sensitivity and community embrace of Haig Park.

“Ngala” is a Ngunnawal term gifted to the park by the United Ngunnawal Elders Council. The artwork title was developed and approved through close collaboration with members of the Ngunnawal community.
